Clense/Validate Email Addresses

BISAS has an email validation service for two purposes:

Validating user registration / Single address verification
Bulk email list clensing

Simple Validation

In short you tell us the email address (via our website, XML, SOAP etc.) and we will verify that the domain is valid, DNS exists and is working, mail servers are listed on the domain and then test ALL of the mail servers to make sure that the domain can receive email.

Advanced Validation

Advanced Validation includes all of the simple validation techniqies PLUS we will connect to the recipient mail server to make sure that the user is accepted by the mail server.

Summary

These techniques are available to integrate into your registration pages or for you to upload csv files for our servers to validate. We have tested this process on lists with up to 10,000,000 email addresses and whilst the process does take some time this saves your mail servers a huge burden of repeatedly sending to dead domains, domains without email servers etc. Your mail servers will currently be retrying dead email addresses many times and will be slowing down your delivery to live email addresses. A dead domain will take at least 20 times longer to connect to before it times out than a live domain so if you have 100 dead records you could have sent at least another 2000 emails to live records..

If your website has a large user base with regular newsletters etc. you can use this service to eliminate old users whos details are no longer valid - that way you could prompt them on their next visit to the site to update their email address.

This service will also make statistics from any bulk emailing campaign much more accurate. Without using a process like the above you may not know the percentage of email was not possible before you hit send.
